History of the organization: The "Local Agenda 21" NGO Veliko Turnovo was created in the beginning of 1998 with the aim to work towards promoting the participation of the civil society in the process of decision-making on a local level. The NGO together with the Regional Information Centre of the Council of Europe and the Bulgarian Association for Fair Elections and Civil Rights conducts a series of projects, aimed at active civil position and intolerance to the existing corruption mechanisms. The organization works together with media representatives, sociologists and politologists from the Higher Technical University "St. St. Kiril and Metodij". The close cooperation with the Association of the NGOs, whose member is "Local Agenda 21", allows the project to aquire wide social support and successful realization.
