Advisory Council on National Security
Consultative body on national security issues, chaired by the President. Sessions held at least once per three months, or by way of the President's decision, or in case of war and mobilization.
Members of the Council are:
The Council decides upon matters related to the domestic and foreign policy aspects of the national security, the social order, civil order, the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens, precaution and prevention of any danger and risk for the national security.
The last important decision taken here was the scheduling of preliminary parliamentary elections for April 19, 1997.
