Filip Georgiev BOKOV


Born on June 3, 1948 in Sofia. Has two children.

Graduated in International Relations from the State University for International Relations in Moscow. Diplomat and head of department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomat in the Bulgarian embassy in London. Collaborator to the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party. Deputy director of "Sofia Press" Agency.

Member of the Supreme Council of BSP 1990-96. Member of the Governing Body of the Supreme Council of BSP 1990-91. Member of the Political Council of the Bulgarian Euroleft since Feb. 1997. Spokesperson of the Council of Ministers 1990. Chairman of the Committee on Television (now, the Bulgarian National Television) 1990. MP (elected in Pazardjik) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of BSP). MP (elected in Vratsa) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Union for Social Democracy). MP (elected in Vratsa) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Left). Leader of the Bulgarian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) since 1995. Deputy chairman of the group of socialists in the PACE.
