Interned for political reasons 1947. Completed high school in Sofia 1948. Graduated in Law from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1954. Ph.D. in Law 1980. Professor at the South-west University - Blagoevgrad since 1994. Worked as a typist in "Kamenni karieri" ("Stone quarries") - Sofia, 1954-56, as a corrector in the Ministry of Forestry 1957-57, as a stenographer in the Ministry of Communal Economy 1957-60. Attorney in Sofia 1960-66. Legal advisor in the Ministry of Architecture 1966-73. Unemployed because of political reasons 1973-1980. Attorney since 1980.
Deputy chairman of the Committee for Democracy since 1991. Member of the Radical Democratic Party (RDP) since 1990. Member of the Democratic Party (DP) since Nov. 1996. Member of the National Party Council of the RDP 1990-96. Deputy chairman of the RDP 1990-96. Member of the Supreme Party Council of the DP since Nov. 1996. Member of the Central Bureau and deputy chairman of the DP since Dec. 1996. MP (elected in Lyulin single-member electoral district-Sofia) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary SDS). Chairman of the Legislative Commission in the 7th Grand National Assembly. MP (elected in Kyustendil) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of SDS). Chairman of the Legislative Commission in the 36th National Assembly. MP (elected in Sofia) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the People's Union, BZNS, Democratic Party). Deputy chairman of the Committee on Administration in the 37th National Assembly. Member of the Bulgarian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 1994.
