Born on Dec. 9, 1940 in the village of Karadjovo, Sadovo municipality, Plovdiv district. Married, has one son.
Completed the Agricultural high school in Sadovo. Graduated from the High Agrarian Institute of Plovdiv 1969. Post-graduate studies at the Institute for International Economic and Political Studies - Moscow, Russia 1973. Ph.D. in Economy 1973 and 1992. Senior research associate 2nd rank 1982. Leader of a stock-breeding brigade in TKZS (Land Cooperative ) in the village of Karadjovo 1960. Secretary of the Dimitrov's Comsomol Youth Union (DKMS) in the village of Katunitsa 1961. Student in the Central Comsomol School 1961-62. Instructor in the Regional Committee of DMKS 1963-69. Representative of the Central Committee of DMKS in the Autonomous Republic of Komi, Russia, 1970-72. Research associate and senior research associate in the Institute for International Economic Relations of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences 1973-91. Deputy chair of the Union of Economists in Bulgaria 1987-91.
Member of BSP since 1964. MP (elected in Plovdiv) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Union for Social Democracy). MP (elected in Plovdiv region) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Left).
