Iliya Petkov DANOV


Born on Nov. 14, 1930 in the village of Obnova, Levski municipality, Lovech district. Married, has two daughters.

Convicted for political reasons in 1949 - sentenced to 9 years inprisonment of which he served 6. Completed high school in Pleven 1960. Electrician in "Oblastni elektricheski stroezhi" (District Electrical Constructions) and in "Minstroy"-Sofia 1957-65. Chief of a brigade in the Mining and Ore-dressing Plant "Elatsite" 1966-82 and in "Peshtostroene i isolatsia" (Furnace Construction and Isolation) 1983-90. Member of the Agrarian Youth Union 1945. Member of BZNS since 1989. Editor-in-chief of "Zemedelsko zname" newspaper 1993-96. Member of the Governing Council of BZNS-Nikola Petkov and BZNS 1991-1996. Member of the Standing Committee of BZNS 1992-96. MP (elected in Pleven) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the People's Union, BZNS, Democratic Party).
