Born on Apr. 7, 1916 in the village of Pisarovo, Pelovo municipality, Lovech district. Married, has two daughters.
Completed high school in Kyustendil 1934. Graduated in Medicine from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1941. Post-graduate specialization in Phtiziatry - Sofia 1960. District physician 1941. Assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1943-46. Head of ward in a sanatorium in Tryavna 1957-63 and in Pernik 1964. Head of ward and part-time lecturer at the Institute of Pulmonary Diseases 1964-84.
Member of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party since 1934. Political secretary of the Union of Social Democratic Youth 1945-48. Chairman of BSDP since 1989. Member of the National Coordination Council of UDF 1990-91. MP in the 6th Grand National Assembly 1946-48. Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of the Bulgarian Workers' Social Democratic Party (united) in the 6th Grand National Assembly. MP in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary UDF). Chair of the Parliamentary UDF.
