Born on Feb. 11, 1953 in Elhovo, Burgas district. Married, has one son and one daughter.
Completed high school in Elhovo 1971. Graduated in Mathematics and Informatics from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1978. Post-graduate studies at Willks University 1987 and at Berkley University, USA 1988-89. Guest lecturer in Tokyo 1991. Ph.D. in Engineering at the Technical University in Sofia 1983. Senior research associate 2nd rank 1986. Head of department in the Central Machine Building Institute in Sofia 1978-86. Deputy director general of the Information Center for Transfer of Technologies "Informa" 1987-90. President of the Bulgarian Association of Information Industry since 1993.
