Ventseslav Asenov DIMITROV


Born on Apr. 17, 1945 in Sofia. Married, has two sons.

Completed high school in Sofia 1963. Graduated in International Economic Relations from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia 1971, and in Mathematics from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1976. Post-graduate studies in Kiel, Germany, 1983. Ph.D. in Economy. Post-graduate studies, research associate and senior research associate (since 1985) in the Economic Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences 1972-90.

Member of the Club Council of Football Club "Levski"-Sofia. Member of the Board of Managers of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1990. Member of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1992. Member of the Plenary Council of the Bulgarian National Bank since 1991.

Member of the United Christian Democratic Center (within UDF) 1990-94. Member of the National Council of the United Christian Democratic Center 1990-94. Member of the Executive Council of the United Christian Democratic Center 1990-93. Deputy chairman of the United Christian Democratic Center 1990-93. Member of the National Coordination Council of UDF 1990-93. Foundation-member and chairman of the Party of the Democratic Center since 1994. Chairman of the "Christian Democracy" association since 1994. MP (elected in Lozenets single-member electoral district - Sofia) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary UDF). Deputy chairman of the Budget Commission and chairman of the Bank Sub-committee in the 7th Grand National Assembly. MP (elected in Sofia) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of UDF). Chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance in the 36th National Assembly. MP (elected in Varna) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the People's Union, BANU, Democratic Party). Deputy chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance in the 37th National Assembly. Member of the Bulgarian Parliament Delegation for Relations with the European Parliament.

Publications: "The Monetary Policy" 1988, dozens of scientific articles on economic problems. Awards: honorary diploma for contribution to the Olympic movement 1992.
