Born on Aug. 3, 1945. Married.

Completed the English language high school in Sofia 1965. Graduated in International Economic Relations from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia 1972. Political commentator and observer at the Bulgarian National TV 1969-75. Correspondent of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) in Peking 1975-80 and Tokyo 1980-86. Political observer at the BTA 1986-87. Correspondent of the BTA in Washington 1987-91. Member of the Union of Journalists in Bulgaria. Deputy chair of the Committee on Human Rights since 1995.

Member of BSP since 1967. Member of the Executive Bureau of the Sofia City Council of BSP since 1992. Member of the Supreme Council of BSP since 1994. MP (elected in Lovech) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Union for Social Democracy). Deputy chair of the Committee on Television and Radio in the 36th National Assembly. MP (elected in Sofia) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Left). Head of the Bulgarian Parliament Delegation in the North Atlantic Assembly.

Producer of several documentaries.
