Milan Petrov KOLEV


Born on Aug. 6, 1942 in the village of Yankovo, Smyadovo municipality, Varna district. Married, has two sons.

Graduated from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1969. Post-graduate studies at the Center for Theory and Management of the Ideological Process 1976-78. Ph.D. in Philosophy 1978. Secretary of the Dimitrov's Comsomol Youth Union in Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

Member of BSP since 1965. Secretary of the Regional Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party (BKP) in Shumen. Head of section in the Central Committee of BKP. Chief of office in the Supreme Council of BSP. Deputy Minister and Secretary general in the Ministry of Culture 1995. MP (elected in Shumen) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of BSP). MP (elected in Shumen) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Left) Jan. 1996-Feb. 1997.

Awards: order "Cyril and Methodius" 2nd class 1974.

Leisure interests: bee-keeping.
