Todor Kolev KAVALDJIEV


Born on Jan. 26, 1934 in the village of Glavan, Haskovo district. Married.

Convicted for political reasons and sentenced to 18 years in prison. Served time in prisons in Pazardjik, Haskovo, Pleven, and Belene 1952-63. Completed high school as a private pupil 1966. Graduated in Accounting Bookkeeping from the Economic Academy in Svishtov. Worked in "Surp i chuk" plant in Stara Zagora, in a forestry farm. Worked as an accountant in the village of Nikolaevo, Kazanlak municipality 1975-82, economist in "Teritoryalno snabdyavane" ("Territorial Supplies") - Stara Zagora 1983-1990.

Participated in the restoration of BZNS-Nikola Petkov. Member of the Standing Committee of BZNS-N. Petkov 1990-92. Member of the Governing Council of BZNS 1992-96. MP (elected in Stara Zagora) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary SDS). Nominee for vice president of the United Democratic Forces in the Nov. 1996 presidential elections.
