Dimitar Petrov LUDJEV

Born on March 27, 1950 in Burgas. Married, has two daughters.

Graduated in Politology and Sociology from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia. Ph.D. in History. Senior research associate 2nd rank at the Institute of History of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Founding-member of the Club for Glasnost and Restructuring 1988-89. Part-time lecturer at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

Foundation-member and chair of the Center for New Policy since 1993. Co-chair of the Union "New Choice" since 1994. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Jan.1990-Nov.1991. Minister of Defense Nov.1991-May 1992. MP (elected in Burgas) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary UDF). MP (elected in Yambol) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of UDF, Parliamentary Group New Union for Democracy, Parliamentary Union "New Choice"). Co-chair of the "New Choice" Parliamentary Union in the 36th National Assembly.
