Born on March 21, 1940 in the village of Gornik, Lovech district.
Graduated in Railroad Construction from the University for Architecture, Building and Geodesy in Sofia. Technologist in Cherven Bryag railroad station 1966-69. Technologist in the "Kapitalno stroitelstvo" ("Large-scale Construction") of the Bulgarian State Railways 1969-70. Chief engineer of an investment office for the building of the main railroad station in Sofia 1970-73. Head of department and chief expert at "Kapitalno stroitelstvo" of the Bulgarian State Railways 1973-80. Deputy director general of the Bulgarian State Railways 1980-88. Chief expert in Sofia People's Council 1988-92. Chief of a building site of "Inzhstroy" in Ukraine and in Sofia 1992-95.
