Born on Feb. 22, 1952 in Pernik, Sofia district. Divorced, has two daughters.
Completed the French language high school in Sofia. Graduated in International Relations from Moscow State Institute for International Relations 1974. Post-graduate studies in stock markets, USA. Member of the Board of the National Association for International Relations. Member of the board of Directors of Bulgarian Stock Exchange since Dec. 1995. Member of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists. In 1974, started work as a consultant in the "The UN and Disarmament" department of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs. Member of the Bulgarian mission in the UN-New York, 1981-85. Head of the "Management Information Systems" department 1986-90. Deputy head of the "European Security" department 1990-92. Private consultant on firm management and information services 1992-93. Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University for National and World Economy in Sofia. Deputy executive director of the First Bulgarian Stock Exchange 1993-95. Executive director of the Center for Mass Privatization Aug. 1995-Dec. 1997. Chair of the Board of Directors of the Central Depositor. Bulgarian representative in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development since Dec. 1996.
