Born in 1943, in Montana.
Graduated in International Economic Relations from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia 1971. Post-graduate studies at "Europe" Institute -Amsterdam 1973-74. Research associate in the Center for Foreign Trade 1971-73. Assistant trade consultant in the Bulgarian embassy in London 1975-80. Worked in the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Relations 1980-84. Trade consultant on relations with the European Community in the Bulgarian embassy in Brussels 1984-89. Deputy director of the "Multirateral Trade Policy" department in the Ministry of Foreign and Economic Relations 1990. Director of the "International Economic and Trade Cooperation" department 1991. Worked in "Namko"-AD 1992-95. Director of the "Integration Policy" section in the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations 1994-95. Secretary general and Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations 1996-Feb. 1997.
