Vladimir Asenov SPASOV


Born on Apr. 1, 1925 in Bosilegrad, Yugoslavia. Married, has one son and one daughter.

Completed high school in Bosilegrad, Yugoslavia 1947. Graduated in Bulgarian Philology from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1958. Collaborator in the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party 1948-55. Literature teacher in Sofia 1958-65. Senior inspector in "Kinefikatsia"-Sofia 1965-68. Head of department in "Pechatni proizvedenia" ("Print Products") 1968-72. Teacher in Sofia 1972-80. Collaborator in Blagoev's Regional Committee of the Fatherland's Front - Sofia, 1981-86. Member of the Workers' Youth Union since 1941. Member of the Fatherland's Front.

Member of the Bulgarian Communist Party since 1944. First secretary of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party 1990-94. General secretary of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party since 1994.

Awards: over 10 orders and medals for participation in the anti-fascist resistance.

Leisure interests: hunting, loyal service to the working people and the Bulgarian Communist Party.
