Zhan Vasilev VIDENOV


Born on March 22, 1959 in Plovdiv. Married, has one son.

Completed the English language high school in Plovdiv. Graduated in International Economic Relations from Moscow State University for International Relations 1985. Employed as expert in international economic relations in “Biotechnika” Corporation - Plovdiv 1985-86. Secretary of the Fourth Regional Committee of Dimitrov’s Comsomol Youth Union (DKMS) in Plovdiv 1986-89. Secretary of the Town Committee of DKMS in Plovdiv. Organizer of international cooperation in “Avtoelectronika”-Plovdiv, 1989-90.

Member of BSP since 1983. Member of the Supreme Council of BSP since 1990. Member of the Presidency and the Executive Bureau of the Supreme Council of BSP Nov.1990-Dec.1996. Head of the Pre-election Center of BSP 1994. Chairman of the Committee on the Executive Power Activity of the Supreme Council of BSP 1994. Chairman of the Supreme Council of BSP Dec.1991-Dec.1996. MP (elected in Plovdiv) in the 7th Grand National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of BSP). MP (elected in Plovdiv) in the 36th National Assembly (Parliamentary Union for Social Democracy). MP (elected in Sofia) in the 37th National Assembly (Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Left) 1995. Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Jan.1995-Feb.1997.
